Synopsis: As for GLO2000

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will have: 1) learnt how to distinguish between different knowledges and data sets which are derived from other discipline- and culture-specific domains 2) developed the ability to engage in deep learning in their chosen target discipline and establish cognitive links to other disciplines (e.g. ethics in environmental science vs. the evolution of ethical frameworks through history) 3) become acquainted with methods of, and approaches to, critical thinking 4) able to demonstrate an ability to engage in team work across disciplines and cultures Students completing this unit at a third year level will be expected demonstrate a broader depth of theoretical knowledge.

Assessment: Module 1 - reflective essay (1000 words): 22%; Module 2 - Group presentation (1000 words): 22%; Module 3 - reflective essay (1000 words): 22%; Module 4 - Examination 1.5 hours (1500 words): 33%

Contact Hours: A minimum of 22 hours per semester consisting of 2 hour seminar or 1 hour lecture and 1 hour tutorial (may vary for different modules).

Prerequisites: INT1010, INT1020 plus at least 36 points of first-year level units in line with course structure (i.e. must have completed all of first-year).
