Gippsland First semester 2006 (Day)
Synopsis: Introduction to hydrologic cycle. Temporal and spatial variation of rainfall. Catchment processes: interception, infiltration, percolation, surface runoff. Streamflow processes: velocity variations. Measurement of streamflow. Rating curve extrapolation. Quality Processes. Groundwater processes. Major analysis/design techniques commonly used in Australian hydrologic engineering practice.
Assessment: Examinations: 70% + Major project: 30%
Contact Hours: 24 lecture hours, 24 tutorial hours and 6 field-trip hours
