Synopsis: The internship offers students the opportunity to apply and consolidate the knowledge and professional skills they have acquired through their previous study. Under supervision of a member of Monash staff the student will undertake and report on practical and analytical work within the practical context of a business or other organisation outside Monash University (government department, or non-government organisation).

Objectives: On successful completion of the internship students will have: 1. gained experience in a project which is of direct benefit to the environmental interests of a client organization outside of Monash University, 2. developed skills in project formulation, implementation, analysis and communication 3. enhanced their capacity to evaluate environmental policy and project work 4. improved their ability for self-evaluation in the context of environmental engagement

Assessment: Internship Journal (1000 words): 15% + Report (8000 words): 85%

Contact Hours: One 2 hour workshop in week 1 of the semester. Subsequent hours to be negotiated between supervisor, student and host organisation.
