Synopsis: This unit examines Resource Management including human, financial administrative and knowledge management. Aspects of strategic planning, budgeting, Human Resource Management and business plans will be covered. Examination of factors associated with developing and maintaining a capable organisation with effective and efficient resource management will be the key feature. Students will be expected to develop a Business Plan for an organisation relevant to their employment and experience.
Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit, student should have acquired understanding and knowledge of the key aspects of resource management in an organisation; skills in developing and planning for successful resource management; skills in developing an appropriate business plan for an organisation; understanding of human resource management elements and their role in organisational success and coherence.
Assessment: One essay (3000 word equiv.): 33.33% + Examination (3000 word equiv.): 33.33% + Business Plan (3000 word equiv.): 33.33%
