Clayton Second semester 2006 (Day)
Synopsis: The unit will combine a background in physiology and electronics to explore the operation of a range of medical instruments and equipment other than those that record electrical activity, including blood pressure and flow, cardiac output, respiration, electrosurgical devices, ventilators and anaesthetic machines, anaesthetic and blood gas analysis and prosthetic hearts and heart parts.
Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory and assignment work: 30%
Contact Hours: 26 lectures, 24 hours of practice classes and project work
Prerequisites: PHY2011 and ECE2601
