Caulfield First semester 2006 (Evening)
Synopsis: Goals and techniques of AI and knowledge-based software development. Software agents, their evolution, intentional notions. Reasoning under uncertainty. Knowledge acquisition and refinement. Selected areas of applications are discussed: deductive databases, problem solving and graph searching, text processing, natural language processing, knowledge representation, rule-based systems, software engineering.
Assessment: Assigments: 30% + Examination: 70%
