Clayton First semester 2006 (Day)
Synopsis: The syllabus includes field programmable gate array design techniques and applications using hardware description language; architectures of advanced microprocessors and interfacing techniques; single bus multiprocessor systems, bus arbitration and control; multiprocessor bus structures; bus interface design; microcontrollers and embedded computer system design; shared memory multiprocessor systems; application of CAD tools to the analysis and design of multiprocessor systems.
Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 50% + Assignment and practical work: 50%
Contact Hours: Two 1-hour lectures and one 2-hour practical class per week
Prerequisites: DGS2210 or CSE2102
