Synopsis: The subject presents both theoretical concepts of web database systems and practical technologies to facilitate design and development of web database applications. The subject also focuses on research issues in web database systems such as optimal data structures for storage, indexing and retrieval to support web data management, integration of data models and formats, and conceptual modelling for web database systems.
Assessment: Reading component: 15%, Unit test: 15%, Research paper and presentation: 35%, Project/Practical assignment: 35%.
Prerequisites: Entry qualifications into any masters or honours program of the Faculty. CPE4001 (or equivalent).
