Locating services; and dynamic discovery methods. Communicating between clients and services. Modelling asynchronous events. Federating services to build global networks of service discovery. Web services. Security issues in internet services. Transaction models for distributed services. User interfaces for internet services. Bridging between protocols.

Prerequisites: Programming experience in Java and programming experience in distributed systems
