Synopsis: The Internet affords great opportunities for conducting business transactions that do not require physical proximity. This course describes the components and issues involved with electronic commerce such as: Internetworking concepts, Architecture, and Protocols, Business Process Analysis, Classification of Digital Commerce, Electronic Payment Methods and Systems, Security, Certificates, EDI, Standards, Commerce Servers, and Internet Business Strategies.

Assessment: Research (paper length of 6,000 words) 40%; Examination (2 hours) 60%

Contact Hours: 4 hours per week

Prerequisites: Admission to the Master of Network Computing, or equivalent Masters level programs of the Faculty.
