Synopsis: This unit will combine classroom teaching and direct observance experience of the money markets covering background to the money markets, participants, interest rate and exchange rate determination, instruments traded in the money and currency markets, strategies and money and currency market trading operations. The simulated treasury dealing room will be used extensively in this course. ASIC Statement PS146: Licensing of financial Product Advisers. Students who complete AFF4251 Money Market Dealing, AFF9130 Financial Planning and AFF4031 Risk Transfer will be fully compliant with the requirements of ASIC statement PS146 (refer http://www.asic.gov.au) (training).
Assessment: Individual/group assessment: 70% + Semester test: 30%
