Postgraduate Certificate of Education (International Education)

Course description

This course is designed primarily to meet the needs and interests of educational administrators, teachers, academics, educational service providers and student support staff engaged in international education at all levels of education. It would also be of interest to staff training officers from industry and private providers.

The course is offered through the off-campus learning mode, with support through regular electronic communication.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for admission to the course, applicants must hold either:

an approved three-year bachelors degree in a relevant field with a credit average in the final year, or
an approved three-year bachelors degree (or equivalent) and a fourth year of study, or
an approved four-year bachelors degree, or
qualifications or experience considered by the faculty board to be equivalent to, or a satisfactory substitute for, the above awards.

Course structure

The course consists of 24 points of study. Students will complete two 12-point units chosen from the following list:

EDF6701 Globalisation and education, and/or
EDF6702 Internationalising the curriculum, and/or
EDF6703 International education markets

Articulation

Candidates who successfully complete the Postgraduate Certificate of Education (International Education) may complete a postgraduate diploma or a masters degree by undertaking a further two or four units respectively.
