Italian studies focuses on the study of Italian literature, history, language, Renaissance culture and literature, women's studies, cinema studies, and social and linguistic issues connected with Italian migration to Australia. Any examination of these cultural issues inevitably also addresses issues of identity, gender relations, and the diversities within Italian social and family systems. Research strengths and supervisionSupervision is available in the following areas: 19th and 20th-century Italian literature, medieval and Renaissance culture and literature, Italian women’s studies, Italian theatre and cinema studies, Italian migration studies and Italian cultural studies.
