Synopsis: This Unit will explore issues surrounding the development of specialist and advanced practice in wound care from a professional and health care community perspective. Students will utilise a range of strategies to measure their existing practice and determine professional development goals.
Objectives: At the completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Demonstrate and understanding of the role of the specialist and advance wound practitioner; 2. Investigate models of advanced practice relevant to their respective clinical practice; 3. Identify internal and external factors that influence the role of the specialist/advanced wound practitioner; 4. Evaluate current practice against existing models of specialist/advanced practice; 5. Identify opportunities for professional mentoring and setting goals for professional development
Assessment: Learning Contract (30%), Major Written Assignment (3000 words) (60%), Participation in online tutorials (10%)
