Synopsis: This unit will examine the systemic medication effect on wound healing. The pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of specific drug classes will be described and discussed in relation to wound healing.
Objectives: At the completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of the types of medications that have an systemic effect on wound healing; 2. Describe the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of the specific drugs or drug classes that impact on wound healing; 3. Demonstrate an understanding of the phase(s) of wound healing affected by specific drugs.
Assessment: Minor Assignment (30%), Major Written Assignment (1500 words) (60%), Participation in online tutorials (10%)
