Caulfield Second semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: This subject introduces the student to the workings of a multimedia studio. The students will be shown the structure and systems required for effective production of multiple projects, running in a parallel, within a studio environment. The students will understand each stage of the production process including all matters to do with client liaison.
Objectives: On successful completion of this unit, students will: 1.be aware of the roles and job descriptions for the team members of a multimedia production studio; 2.understand the organisational behaviour of a multimedia production studio and be able to deal with any conflicts that may arise during the course of production; 3.have knowledge of the methods, tools and techniques used in the development and implementation of multimedia systems; 4.be aware of the strengths and limitations of multimedia as a means of information storage and presentation; 5.understand the different areas of production including pre-production, production and post-production methodology.
Assessment: Major project: 60% + Exercises:40%
Contact Hours: One 1 hour lecture, 3 studio hours, 8 hours for assignments, 8 independent study hours per week
