Synopsis: This subject will cover the formulation of agricultural products including herbicides and pesticides, personal care products, consumer chemicals including car care products, lubricants, cleaning products, disinfectants, paints, inks, hair care products and food products. Students will apply their knowledge of excipients to formulating a wide range of products
Objectives: Students will develop: - An understanding of the absorption, distribution and metabolism of xenobiotics. - Comprehension of the diverse mechanisms by which xenobiotics affect physiological systems. - An ability to design non-toxic formulations specific for physiological systems. - An appreciation of the influence of formulation on drug action.

Prerequisites: All of 2nd year B.Form. Sci units
Corequisites: There are no special corequisites for this unit
