Clayton First semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: The nature of religion, the variety of forms of belief and practice developed by specific religious groups, and the impact of religious ideas, practices and institutions upon other elements of Australian society. The contemporary role of religion is assessed through an examination of current sociological research.
Assessment: Six exercises (350 words): 25% + Research essay (7000 words): 75%
Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 x 2 hour seminar) per week
