Clayton First semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: Strategic studies is the analysis of the military dimension of international relations. Within this setting, the unit looks at the following topics: the role of the US military power; security issues in the Asia-Pacific; Australian defence policy; threats to the peace; military intervention; arms control; and concepts of security.
Assessment: Essay (6000 words): 50% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 x 2 hour seminar) per week
