Synopsis: A study in depth of a particular topic in music under the direct supervision of a staff member.
Objectives: Upon successful completion of the unit students should have acquired a basic knowledge of the history, style and context of a selected genre, instrument, ensemble or repertoire on a framework within which to identify, categorise, write and/or perform critically about it.
Assessment: 1.Critical essay (8000 words): 90; 2.Three critiques of Three Research and Work in Progress Seminar (1000 words): 10%
