Clayton First semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: This unit will present many issues important to the performing and teaching profesions. The following areas will be covered: Motivation, body use, performance anxiety, communication skills, score analysis and the art of practicing.
Objectives: At the conclusion of the unit, students should have acquired: 1. An introductory level of aural skills. 2. Introductory analytical skills in the approach to music performance and its pedagogy.
Assessment: Written assignment (2000 words): 50% + Written examination of no more than 120 minutes (2500words): 50%
