Clayton Second semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: History of inorganic (calcareous) cements. Production of Portland cement and phases in Portland cement clinker. Hydration of Portland cement. Mortars, concrete, aggregates, workability, water/cement ratio. Additives to cement and concrete, pozzolanic materials etc. High strength cement and concrete. Behaviour of concrete after pouring. Reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, fibre reinforced cement and concrete. Corrosion and durability of cement and concrete. Fire resistance of concrete. Special cements and concrete.
