Synopsis: Phase transformations - precipitation and precipitation hardening, spinodal decomposition, displacive transformations, ordering; and structure and properties of ceramics.

Assessment: Examination (2 x 1.5 hours): 55% + Assignments: 12% + Laboratory work: 33%

Contact Hours: 2.5 lectures/tutorials plus 2.5 hours laboratory per week
