Synopsis: This subject comprises an exploration of industry links to a student's chosen area of specialisation in multimedia which contributes towards the Bachelor of Multimedia Systems (Honours) or Masters degree. Students will complete and present two research papers based on their thesis/project - one of these in oral form, the second as a formal written paper for submission to a relevant refereed conference; participate in the organisation of guest lecturers and visits to industry, as well as attend seminars and presentations organised by the other students.
Assessment: Students will be required to present two research papers (one oral presentation; one written paper for submission to a refereed conference) based on their research project/thesis: 80% of total assessment Students will contribute to the organisation and management of guest lecturers: 20% of total assessment
