Berwick First semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: This unit will examine a range of contemporary programming environments and languages used in commercial application development. Comparative strengths and weaknesses will be examined with a view to selection of the most efficient tool for a given task. The syntax of MFC, along with Visual Studio, will be introduced to demonstrate the commercial development process.
Assessment: Two assignments (40%) Examination (60%) Practical Tests (30%) Written Examination (2 hours - 30%)
Contact Hours: The student workload requirement is 12 hours per week for 13 weeks. Students will attend 2 hours of lectures and one 2 hour tutorial/laboratory session per week.Students are expected to spend 8 hours per week on individual study and assignment work, including library and computing laboratory work beyond these normal class hours.
