Synopsis: The management of retail organisations, the application of technology in retail organisations and the application of retail strategic and financial planning. Issues, problems and practices involved in managing a retail operation; the role of the retailing industry in distribution, its structure and its dynamics; retail merchandise planning, buying and control; retail store location, layout, presentation and management; current theories and techniques used in the formulation and implementation of retail business strategy.
Assessment: Assignment(s): 50% + Examination (2 hours): 50%
