Caulfield Second semester 2005 (OCL)
Synopsis: Students will undertake the second of three 42-day placements in a health organisation under the supervision of a health psychologist who is a member of the APS College of Health Psychologists. Placement seminars, which will be held at the residential schools, will cover topics relevant to the professional practice of health psychology. No more than 42 days of the total placement requirement can be undertaken at the student's current employment.
Objectives: On successful completion of this placement unit students will: 1. appreciate the role of health psychologists working in rural and remote health organisations and the interface between health psychology and other health professions; 2. have learnt assessment and treatment skills and the preparation and delivery of health promotion programs.
Assessment: Three placement reports (500 words each): 30% + One case study (1500 words): 20% + Supervisor's reports: 50% + Student logbook: hurdle requirement
Off-campus attendance requirements: Five-day on-campus workshop
