Synopsis: This unit offers a broad perspective on the development of human resources within organisations by examining the role of training and development and career development within the Human Resource Management function of a business enterprise. It examines major theories relevant to human resource development and career development, including human capital theory, the theory of the psychological contract and the theory of the learning organisation.
Assessment: Individual Assignment (3000 words): 30%, Individual Assignment (3000 words): 30%, Examination (2 hours): 40%.
