Synopsis: (Please note that this unit is only available as an on-line offering in Semester One, 2005.) Introduction to learning experiences, theories and models Strategies for developing teaching and learning environments The design and development cycle Developing reflective practice Future directions
Objectives: At the successful completion of this Unit the student should be able to: (1) Describe a number of learning theories; (2) Explain a range of teaching methods; (3) Identify and explain the stages in the design and development cycle; (4) Reflect on current trends in learning and how these relate to their own practice.
Assessment: This Unit will be assessed as Pass or Fail only and no grades will be allocated. There will be ongoing assessment which may include reflective activities, case studies and a final assessment task. Participation in the Unit online discussion group will also be required.
