Synopsis: Introduction to structure of the European Union, legislative procedures, legal framework of the single market and single currency, legal protection including human rights, trade with Australia and the rest of the world, current problems of enlargement and constitutional reform.

Objectives: This course designed for Australian and other non-EU lawyers who, for professional or academic reasons, seek an introduction to the legal system, and economic law of the European Union.

Assessment: Research essay (3750 words) 50% Take-home Exam (3750 words) 50%
