Synopsis: The subject is taken by completing either a 15,000 or 30,000 word (maxium) thesis under appropriate supervision. The topic is designed by the candidate in conjunction with a staff member and approved by the Postgraduate Studies Committee.
Objectives: The minor thesis allows candidates: (1) to explore in depth a particular legal issue and to acquire and demonstrate a knowledge of the broader legal and policy framework within which these issues can be discussed; and (2) to develop and demonstrate research, analytical and writing skills, in order to demonstrate a depth of legal scholarship.
Assessment: The thesis will be assessed by an examiner under the Faculty regulations
