Clayton Second semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: Extension of KOR2050. Develops and consolidates the language skills. In computer lab class students will read and write messages or comment on some special issues in Korean using BBS.
Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Speak and comprehend Korean with structural accuracy and vocabulary sufficient to manage most formal and informal conversations on practical and social topics of general interest to the students' age group. 2. Gain information from spoken and written sources in Korean using dictionaries. 3. Read issues regarding contemporary features of Korean society and express their own opinion.
Assessment: Examinations (3 hours): 40% + Project: 20% (equivalent of 1000 words) + Oral test (10 minutes) :20% + Homework (3 writing tasks and 3 web tasks): 20%
Contact Hours: 4 hours (2 x 1 hour lectures and 2 x 1 hour tutorials) per week
Prerequisites: KOR2050 or equivalent
Prohibitions: KOR2060
