Clayton Second semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: Consolidation and extension of work begun in KOR2010.
Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will: 1. Be able to speak and comprehend enough to satisfy all survival needs, such as describing things, comparing, asking and talking about family, wishes and ability, requesting, agreeing and refusing, and asking and talking about past and future events. 2. Be able to read and comprehend contextually constrained texts that do not contain sentences of complex structure, when they are given background information on them. 3. Be able to use basic Korean structures and expressions. 4. Have developed self-study skills using what they have learnt in class.
Assessment: Continuous assessment (oral and written class work, homework, tests): 60% + Examination (4 hours): 40%
Contact Hours: 4 hours (2 x 1 hour lectures and 2 x 1 hour tutorials) per week
Prerequisites: KOR2010 or equivalent
Prohibitions: Students enrolled in Arts courses are prohibited from taking this unit. In addition, students taking this unit may not also take KOR1020.
