Clayton First semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: Development and consolidation of communication skills in speaking, reading and writing, especially skills required for more sophisticated conversation and comprehension skills in reading diverse materials. In computer lab class students will create a web page in Korean as a project.
Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Speak and comprehend Korean with structural accuracy and vocabulary sufficient to manage most formal and informal conversations on practical and social topics of general interest to the students' age group. 2. Listen for information from instructions and announcements. 3. Read and write a resume and undertake a job interview.
Assessment: Examinations (3 hours): 40% + Project: 20% (equivalent of 1000 words) + Oral test (10 minutes): 20% + Homework (3 writing tasks and 3 web tasks): 20%
Contact Hours: 4 hours (2 x 1 hour lectures and 2 x 1 hour tutorials) per week
