Synopsis: As for INM2090
Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Consolidate and further develop their knowledge of Indonesian in order to achieve advanced competence in spoken and written Indonesian with emphasis on special topics such as business, economics, legal and official purposes. 2. Read, translate, and analyse appropriate and relevant materials. 3. Prepare and deliver short talks or skits appropriate to particular occasions. 4. Write letters and compositions on prescribed subjects, and lead discussions on these.
Assessment: Translations (3 x 250 words): 30% + Essay in ndonesian (1000 words) 30% + Spoken word presentations: 30 minutes 40% Additional comment Assessment is in Indonesian except for translations which are in both directions (Indonesian to English and English to Indonesian). Indonesian word count and spoken presentation represent English word count equivalent of 4,500 words.
Contact Hours: 4 hours (1 x lecture and 3 x tutorials) per week
Prerequisites: INM2060 or equivalent
