Synopsis: Introduction: robots' applications; robots general structure; end-effector's design and job requirements; economic justification of utilising robots; robot selection process. Laboratory sessions will be conducted to ensure hands-on experience in the robotics field. Site visits to manufacturing plants where robots are heavily used.
Assessment: Examination: 50% + Assignment/laboratory/project: 50%
Contact Hours: 26 lecture hours and 26 tutorial/laboratory hours
