Synopsis: Production processes within mechanical engineering. The design of a production system for metal, machine and electrotechnics industry on the basis of product and business requirements. The design of controllability and speed. The core and supportive systems. The improvement of production activities with the help of information technology and production automation. Computer Aided Design and Production Planning (CAD and CAPP). Production Planning Systems (PPS). Control systems for Flexible Manufacturing Systems. Tool management in flexible manufacturing environments (TMS). Computer aided quality assurance (CAQ).
Assessment: Assignments/projects: 50%+ Examination: 50%
Contact Hours: 104 hours (expected average student's efforts), including (including 26 hours lecture/seminars, 26 hours laboratory/tutorial)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of the first level units
