Synopsis: The equivalent of twenty-four points of fourth-year coursework, together with a substantial individual project. Coursework topics include formal specifications, multimedia communications, multimedia programming, image processing and computer vision, advanced database management systems, and non-symbolic artificial intelligence. In first semester all students undertake a research methods and reading unit. Subject to the approval of the head of school, students may include in their coursework component up to two fourth- or fifth-year units from any other school of the faculty.
Assessment: Examinations: 50% + Minor thesis (10,000-20,000 words): 50%
Contact Hours: 48 hours per week
Prerequisites: Bachelor of Computing with a credit or better in final-year system development units or equivalent
