Synopsis: While examining the specificity of Hip-Hop culture and Rap as cultural productions, students will consider broader social issues in France today. They will examine Hip-Hop as an answer to a hostile social and urban environment while analyzing the function of the Rap artist as social commentator.
Assessment: Assignment (1000 words): 20% + Assignment (1200 words): 30% + Oral presentations: 20% + Essay (1500 words): 30%
