Synopsis: This unit has been designed to provide students with a body of understanding and skills which they can bring to a variety of units in the course of their Bachelor of Computing degree and to their future work. As such, it presents basic quantitative concepts and techniques relevant to computing, with a strong emphasis on their use. There will be a strong emphasis on establishing the links between the topics covered and their use in computing.
Assessment: Three assignments: 30% + Examinaton (3 hours): 70%
Contact Hours: 2-hour lecture and 2-hour tutorial/laboratory per week, plus 8 hours of private study
Prohibitions: ETX1100 or equivalent
