Clayton First semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: Principles of mass and energy conservation for steady-state analysis, design and operation of environmental systems, process plant and equipment; material and energy balance computation procedures; steady and unsteady mass balances for non-reacting systems. Reacting systems, homogenous reaction kinetics, temperature and pressure effects, analysis of single and multiple ideal reactors. Examples to be derived from global air, water and soil systems as well as specific processes.
Assessment: Examination: 60% + Laboratory and other assignments: 40%
