Synopsis: Initial series of lectures will provide framework of sustainable development, population and economic growth, industrialisation and urbanisation, energy demand and usage, human environmental disturbance. The course will include one or two topical environmental case studies designed to expose students to a range of major environmental issues, conflicts and ethics.
Assessment: Group project: 35% + Assignments: 15% + Examination: 50% Students must pass both project/assignment and examination components
