Synopsis: This unit builds on the concepts introduced in EDF5450. This unit will focus on the development of extended lesson sequences and the music curriculum for the upper years of schooling.

Objectives: The broad aims of this unit are to develop and prepare effective learning episodes in school class music education for upper secondary students; to become familiar with the range of approaches and resources available in classroom music education; to develop an understanding of and skills in the teaching of class music, particularly those associated with elective music programs.

Assessment: Assessment: Reflection on teaching: 50%, Project 50% + Student participation in the unit is vital either on-campus or via the on-line forum + students must complete at least 45 days teaching practice (50 for double degree students) and gain a rating of satisfactory for the teaching practice.
