Synopsis: Statistical processes applicable to classroom measurement and evaluation; the construction and use of classroom assessment and reporting procedures; the use of published tests; the development and use of attitude scales and the role of educational measurement and evaluation in education.
Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit, students should have understood the nature and function of classroom assessment; critically evaluated different types of assessment techniques and identified the purposes for which they are appropriate; constructed valid and reliable assessment instruments; used simple statistical methods required for assessment purposes; understood the interrelationships between teaching objectives and evaluation.
Assessment: Test (800 words): 20% + Two assignments (1600 words each): 40% each
