Gippsland First semester 2005 (OCL)
Synopsis: Recent developments in the physical education curriculum. Origins of the national curriculum profile in health and physical education. The national profile and its influence on state frameworks. Review of recent research and current practice in the field chosen from fitness, PMP, sport education or skill acquisition.
Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will have developed knowledge and understanding of current national and state frameworks for Physical Education; recent and relevant research in the field of Physical Education curriculum; the current practices of a specific area within the Physical Education curriculum and current practices and their relationship with the new curriculum frameworks.
Assessment: Two assignments (2000 words each): 50% each
