Synopsis: Students liaise with an outside client drawn from either the education sphere or a commercial enterprise. The task is to develop for the client an information technology solution to a problem or project that the client feels desirable to achieve and that the student feels capable of achieving.

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit, students should possess an understanding of the client-provider relationship; have developed user skills in relation to the construction of a computing application as specified by the client; gained an understanding of and practical experience in the need for project deadlines and deliverables; gained a broader understanding of the integrated role information technology plays within our society.

Assessment: Essay (1000-2000 words): 20% + Presentation of Project: 20% + Project: 60%
