Peninsula Second semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: in this unit, students will develop competence in basic lesson planning and selected teaching skills. Students will re-acquaint themselves with the primary school; engage in extended observation of practising teachers in functioning classrooms, and undertake basic teaching tasks incorporating selected teaching skills introduced in lectures.
Objectives: The broad aims of this unit are for students to develop an increased understanding of the roles of individual differences in the teaching/learning process; skills in observing and interpreting school and classroom behaviour; an increased understanding of new and evolving insights on the teaching and learning process; knowledge of basic concepts and theories of learning; their own explicit personal models of learning.
Assessment: Assessment: Pass grade only + Folio of Practical studies & Satisfactory completion of the Practicum program + Hurdle Requirement: Undertaking of set homework tasks and participation in follow up discussion. And group work.
