Synopsis: This unit examines a range of perspectives on teaching as well as skills of teaching in different contexts. The course builds on the understandings of ability, learning and motivation that were developed in EDF1301 and looks at the relevance and implications of these for teaching. Students learn to recognise, appreciate and critique the elements of teaching in different sites and circumstances.
Objectives: As a result of studying this unit students will be able to describe, analyse and justify what they regard to be educative teaching and explain how this can vary with context and purpose.
