Caulfield Second semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: This unit examines the process of globalisation and economic systems such as capitalism, socialism and communism. Country case studies include the United Kingdom, the former USSR, China and Sweden. Specific aspects of globalisation studied include trade, investment and global governance. The unit will introduce students to key issues in comparative economic systems, political economy and economic history.
Assessment: Written (3000 word assignment): 35% + Mid-semester test: 10% + Tutorial participation: 5% + Examination (2.5 hours): 50%
