Synopsis: Introduction to principles of marketing and planning. Included in the marketing segment are planning for the company, markets, the marketing mix. The business plan and principles of quality management are investigated. Aspects of public sector business, the government and privatisation are linked to legal issues relating to engineers. Students are provided with the fundamentals of project evaluation and management, budgets and are introduced to the role of the professional engineer and professional ethics.
Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Assignment work: 30%
Contact Hours: 26 lectures, 24 hours of practice classes and laboratory classes
